Proof of Delivery
A
Proof of delivery (POD) is produced upon the receipt of a delivery by a
consignee and represents the document that a receiving clerk at the receiving
dock signs to show what has been received. A proof of delivery indicates the
location, date and time of delivery, and the name of the individual receiving
the delivery as well as the number of shipping units, weight and volume
delivered. Any short or damaged quantities are also noted.
Your
carriers provide proof of delivery through the Oracle XML Gateway (EDI) or by
entering the data manually through the Carrier Portal within Oracle
Transportation Execution. Once the information is received you can compare the
shipped versus delivery quantities of the delivery, and run reports to track
any discrepancies.
